Comedy icons collide in the “Fools Of April” block on Friday, April 1, starting at 6:25pE with Val Kilmer in the 1984 spy spoof TOP SECRET! Then, the world’s worst detective searches for Clouseau in the network premiere of CURSE OF THE PINK PANTHER, with David Niven, at 8pE; and Steve Martin’s naïve bumpkin stumbles through life in THE JERK, at 9:55pE. Next, at 11:35pE, Rob Reiner goes on tour with the world’s funniest metal band in the network premiere of THIS IS SPINAL TAP, with Christopher Guest and Michael McKean, followed by John Cleese and Eric Idle in MONTY PYTHON’S THE MEANING OF LIFE, at 1:05aE. And Carl Reiner causes Cold War panic in THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING, at 2:55aE.
