Los Angeles – April 4, 2017 – HDNET MOVIES gathers up a posse of cowboy classics with a special Westerns Marathon riding into town on Sunday, April 9, starting at 11aE. The adventure begins with Western icon John Wayne, who finds romance and riches in the 1960 favorite NORTH TO ALASKA, with Stewart Granger. Then Robert Wagner stars as the ultimate outlaw in the 1957 biopic THE TRUE STORY OF JESSE JAMES at 1:15pE and a young woman fights for survival in the Old West in the 1993 drama THE BALLAD OF LITTLE JO, with Ian McKellen, at 2:50pE.
The day continues with an encore airing of NORTH TO ALASKA at 5pE followed by beloved leading men James Stewart and Dean Martin as brothers on the run in the raucous 1968 actioner BANDOLERO!, with Raquel Welch and George Kennedy at 7:05pE. Then, Burt Reynolds, Jim Brown and Raquel Welch star in the 1969 war epic 100 RIFLES, at 9pE and the marathon comes to a close with William Holden as a cattleman forced to help Confederate troops in ALVAREZ KELLY, with Richard Widmark, at 11pE.
