HDNET MOVIES CELEBRATES THE KING WITH A “HUNKA HUNKA BIRTHDAY LOVE” EVENT STARRING ELVIS PRESLEY IN EIGHT CLASSIC FILMS IN HONOR OF WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN HIS 83RD BIRTHDAY ON MONDAY, JANUARY 8 STARTING AT 7aE 

Highlights Include Elvis’ Acting Debut in LOVE ME TENDER, as well as BLUE HAWAII with Angela Lansbury, ROUSTABOUT with Barbara Stanwyck, & More 

Los Angeles – January 5, 2018 – HDNET MOVIES salutes the incomparable Elvis Presley with the “Hunka Hunka Birthday Love” block, featuring eight of The King’s most classic films in honor of what would have been his 83rd Birthday on Monday, January 8, starting at 7aE. An encore broadcast of the entire line-up will air on Tuesday, January 30 at 7aE.

The festivities begin with Elvis as a young soldier betting on a beautiful dancer in G.I. BLUES, featuring Britt Ekland in her first film appearance. Other highlights include FUN IN ACAPULCO with iconic Bond Girl Ursula AndressKim Basinger and John Corbett in the 2004 Elvis Impersonator comedy ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING, with Tom Hanks and Sean AstinROUSTABOUT with Barbara Stanwyck and Raquel Welch in her second film appearance; the 1956 Civil War Western LOVE ME TENDER, featuring Elvis in his acting debut; BLUE HAWAIIwith Angela Lansbury; and more.
