Los Angeles – July 28, 2016 – HDNET MOVIES ends the summer with a bang, as the network presents a high-octane August lineup featuring explosive thrillers, classic comedies, and more—airing in primetime, all month long. This month’s roster is bolstered by a double dose of suspense epics starring Denzel Washington on Saturday, August 6 at 8pE, as the Oscar® winner teams up with Angelina Jolie to take down a serial killer in the network premiere of THE BONE COLLECTOR. Then, Washington puts his life on the line to rescue a kidnapped girl in MAN ON FIRE, with Dakota Fanning and Christopher Walken, at 10pE.

HDNET MOVIES puts the spotlight on fan-favorite Jack Nicholson in a three-film marathon on Friday, August 19 at 8pE, starring as an eccentric therapist who tries to get meek businessman Adam Sandler back on track in ANGER MANAGEMENT. Next, at 9:50pE, Nicholson delivers an Oscar®-winning performance as a cranky writer who falls for waitress Helen Hunt in AS GOOD AS IT GETS, with Greg Kinnear. And Nicholson takes the stand as a Colonel accused of ordering the death of a young Marine in the 1992 Aaron Sorkin drama A FEW GOOD MEN, with Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, and Kiefer Sutherland, at 12:10aE.

HDNET MOVIES closes out the month with six fan favorites in the Super Fun Movie Weekend block, airing every night at 8pE from Friday, August 26 through Sunday, August 28. Friday’s lineup features the Mel Brooks farce ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS, starring Cary Elwes and Patrick Stewart; followed by Michael Keaton as an unlikely mobster in JOHNNY DANGEROUSLY, at 9:50pE. The laughs continue on Saturday, with Jim Varney as mountaineer-turned-millionaire Jed Clampett in THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, with Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton; then, Kevin Bacon battles killer creatures in the 1990 cult hit TREMORS, at 9:35pE. The weekend wraps up with a pair of Alfred Hitchcock parodies on Sunday, as Bill Murray gets caught in international espionage in THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO LITTLE; and Mel Brooks gives the Master of Suspense the ultimate sendup in HIGH ANXIETY, at 9:40pE.
