HDNET MOVIES HONORS THE BATTLE OF MIDWAY WITH A FIVE-DAY EVENT SHOWCASING THE 1976 EPIC ‘MIDWAY’ ON EACH DAY OF THE BATTLE’S ANNIVERSARY, JUNE 3 TO 7

Los Angeles – May 31, 2016 – HDNET MOVIES pays tribute to the Battle of Midway, the decisive WWII naval battle in the Pacific that marked a turning point for the U.S., with special screenings of the 1976 war epic MIDWAY in honor of the battle’s 74th Anniversary. The network will air the film once a day, starting on the first anniversary date of the battle, Friday, June 3, at 5:45pE, through the last day of the battle on Tuesday, June 7, at 8pE, with an encore presentation on the film’s 40th Anniversary, Saturday, June 18, at 12:50aE.

MIDWAY stars Charlton Heston and Henry Fonda as U.S. military officials who lead a historic charge against Japanese forces. The star-studded film also showcases memorable performances from James Coburn, Glenn Ford, Tom Selleck, Robert Wagner, Hal Holbrook, Robert Mitchum, and Cliff Robertson, and features an acclaimed musical score by John Williams.
